The Palm Beach Coralytes are the oldest and most recognized competitive swim team in Palm Beach County. With a history of success, the Coralytes compete nationally against the country’s top synchronized swim teams—often finishing atop the leader board. But synchronized swimming is about more than just competition. Swimmers earn valuable experience, receive knowledge of physical education and, likely the most important, gain a strong sense of purpose and camaraderie. The team is sanctioned by U.S. Synchronized Swimming (USSS) and sponsored by Palm Beach County's Division of Parks and Recreation Department.
Coach Caroline brings a wealth of firsthand experience and swimming knowledge to the team. She began swimming with the Coralytes at the age of 10. She continued swimming synchro through her senior year of high school ranking in the top 10 at all levels of competition. Not limiting herself to synchro, she also competed on the varsity swim team. At the University of Florida, Coach Caroline swam during her first two years for the Florida Gators Synchro Team. During her tenure, the Gators placed 9th at the Collegiate Nationals. Her certifications include, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, CPR/AED, Santa Clara Coaches Camp, Level 4 National Judge. Caroline is a graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Masters degree from Florida Atlantic University. She currently works full time as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Palm Beach County School District.
Coach Jacki joined the Palm Beach Coralytes in 1996. While sewing headpieces and carpooling as a parent, she developed a love for the sport. Eager to learn more, Jacki jumped headfirst into synchro first as a Master Swimmer, then transitioning to judge and finally coach. Thanks to her daughers’ love of swimming, it was easy for Jacki to devote herself to the sport.
Jacki believes a prepared swimmer is a confident swimmer. She uses her background in dance and a career as a Registered Nurse to instill confidence and poise among developing synchro swimmers. Her scientific approach involves explaining the whys and how comes, defining muscle groups, rigorous conditioning early in the season, breathing techniques and mental focus. Jacki believes a prepared swimmer is a confident swimmer. Her credentials are Certified Coach Level 1, CPR, WSI Safety Trainer Instructor, Alumni of the Coaches College in Colorado Springs and Alumni of Santa Clara Swim Camp for 3 years. She also is a Level 5F Judge and attends the Annual Aquatics Convention every year to stay abreast of changes in the sport.
Courtney is a previous Coralyte swimmer. She coaches our Age Group TeamsAge Group and assists with the other teams. She is a graduate and former synchro swimmer for Keuka College, in NY State. Courtney is a Marketing Manager for Gustafson Industries and continues to enjoy sharing her passion for snchro with young swimmers.
Mackenzie began swimming at age 7 after leaving competitive swimming for something more challenging and creative. She spent the past 10 years leading the Coralytes in many competitions. Mackenzie placed nationally and attended three national team trials. Her strongest finishes were 7th in solo and 2nd in duet. As a coach, Mackenzie skills include creative choreography as well as strong technical skills.
Anna is 15 years old and has been on the Palm Beach Coralytes for seven years. She believes that synchronized swimming is a unique sport and has made it a huge part of her life. Anna believes that swimming helps define who she is as a person both in and out of the water. She mentors the novice and intermediate swimmers as well as runs the Coralyte stretch program which is key to the swimmers performance.
Evelyn was an Assistant Coach of the Palm Beach Coralytes since the club was organized in 1985, when she began learning sport from Palm Beach Coralytes founder/ Head Coach Cori Welbes.
Evelyn spent over 30 years contributing to the team and helping many young ladies learn the discipline of synchronized swimming. In addition to mentoring young girls Evelyn also competed every year at USSS Masters National Championships, bringing home gold, silver or bronze medals for her solos, duets & trios.

The Palm Beach Coralytes lost a dear friend in October of 2013, Evelyn Dowling. Evelyn was a coach, mentor and friend to Coach Caroline, Courtney and Jacki. It is Evelyn’s passion for the sport that drives our three coaches to invest their time teaching our girls this beautiful sport, which instills confidence and leadership skills in them. Evelyn’s family, in her passing, have set up the Evelyn Dowling Memorial Scholarship Fund to reward a hard working Coralyte swimmer heading off to College.
We are excited to announce that Melissa Perez has earned the first Evelyn Dowling Memorial Scholarship. Melissa spent 6 years swimming with the Coralytes and this last year was the coach of our Intermediate Team. Melisa is also a Level 1 Synchro Judge, varsity swimmer for HS swim team and is graduating with honors from Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Melisa will be heading off to University of Florida this June and will compete on the UF Gator Synchronized Swimming team. Melissa we are very proud of you and look forward to hearing about your college experiences!
